Play and the connection it builds amongst people and ideas is one of the key competencies necessary to push forward breakthrough concepts in your innovation journey.
The Playnnovation™ framework is a game-hands-on experience that explores the theory of fun and the importance of incorporating play in our work environment and daily life. The goal is to fuel imagination, creativity, problem-solving abilities, cross-collaboration, and emotional well-being.
This will be a hands-on and interactive session where you will experience play as a key driver for innovation. The hosts will lead you in exploring why fun creates engagement and how playing is the best way to (un)structure ideas in order to test them out within a safe, productive, and meaningful context.

Design Thinking meets Tech
We are partnering this time with Motius GmbH to bring you this interactive lab “Design Thinking meets Tech”, where we will explore how Design Thinking intersects with Tech to create new possibilities.
The Design Thinking approach usually starts with a blank sheet of paper. The first two phases are aimed at understanding the end-user. But what if we want or have to use a certain technology? Or what if we want to create innovative new features with a certain technology?
In this hands-on Lab, led by Motius GmbH, you will learn how to use tools from the Design Thinking approach in a Tech Track.
During the workshop, you will understand the connection between technological influences on the Design Thinking process and learn practical applications of some selected methods and tools through hands-on exercises.
The workshop will start with tech research (prepared by Motius). Then we will let these insights flow into the ideation phase of the Design Thinking process. In this step, you will learn some methods from the ideation toolbox. Afterward, you will be able to develop a simple prototype and test it within the workshop.

About the Speaker:
Daniel Blank works as Design Thinker at Motius and has over 5 years of experience driving and facilitating Ideation Workshops, creating Software & Hardware prototypes and testing them in interviews. Daniel also works as a trainer for the Google Digital Garage, where he teaches methods and processes from Rapid Prototyping, Agile and Design Thinking. He also uses his know-how in his sidekick business, in which he develops and sells special equipment for mountain bikers. In all his activities, it is clear how much Daniel takes the user-centric approach into account.

Live Innovation Lab is hosting the Pioneers Women in Innovation Panel as a flagship event to commemorate the International Women’s Day – IWD 2021 under this year’s campaign theme “#ChooseToChallenge”.
The panel will celebrate pioneer women who are leaving their mark within the innovation field and will showcase innovation professionals who are paving the way for a more diverse and inclusive future.
Our panelists will represent different industries from areas such as STEM, Media & Art, Business, Entrepreneurship, and Social innovation.
During the event, you will have the opportunity to network and exchange with those who have managed to bridge the gender and innovation gap and who are committed to exert change in their communities.

Speakers Bio
Anna Tidstam, PhD, EMBA is leaving her mark within the innovation field of green energy, enabling a sustainable transport future. She is a Vice President at Northvolt Zwei. She has worked for automotive companies such as Pininfarina, Volvo Trucks, Daimler, BMW, and VW. She received her Ph.D. in Product Development from Chalmers Technical University in 2014 and M.Sc. in Engineering Physics also from Chalmers Technical University in Göteborg, Sweden, in 2009.
Arletta Korff is the Head of Innovation at Sony Music Entertainment, she is leaving her mark at the intersection of music, entertainment, and technology. Arletta brings imagination and expertise to the newest products and platforms, embraces new business models, employs breakthrough tools, and provides powerful insights that help artists push creative boundaries and reach new audiences. She holds a B.A in Communication and Media Sciences from the University of Hamburg and Complutense University of Madrid.
Isabel Nieto Alvarez is leaving her mark in precision medicine, redesigning healthcare delivery, improving the patient experience and digitizing healthcare. She is passionate about innovating and transforming the experience of care to be human-centered. She is part of the Siemens Healthineers Global Innovation Network as expert on patient stressors in the experience of care. Isabel has lead and supported cross-functional teams in marketing and innovative projects on patient experience. She is a biomedical engineer from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico, holds a Master in Science on Mind and Body Medicine from Saybrook University in California, and a Certification on Leadership in Healthcare without Harm.
Letizia Gionfrida is Co-founder and CEO at Arthronica, a digital health tech start-up company that spun-out from Imperial College London’s bioengineering department in 2018. Arthronica developed an AI-powered platform for arthritis patient monitoring and rehabilitation.
She has been on her Ph.D. in Bioengineering from Imperial College London, M.Eng in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from New York University and the University of Naples Federico II. Formerly Letizia was part of the Research and Innovation TELMI (Technology Enhanced Learning of Musical Instrument Performance) funded by Horizon2020; her project focuses on designing and applying analytic techniques of computer vision to characterize elite musicians’ performance and optimize video-based motion analysis and real-time capture technologies.
She also worked as a software engineer at NTU in Singapore in skin cancer detection using AI and smartphones and as a researcher in diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease at NYU School of Medicine, Center for Health Informatics, and Bioinformatics.
Empowering the transfer of research results and business ideas into innovative Startups, Nadine Chochoiek, runs the entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship program “founders@unibw” and is in charge of the entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, and technology transfer topics at the University of the German Federal Armed Forces in Munich, Germany.
She holds a Ph.D. in entrepreneurship and management from LMU and Max Planck Institute for Competition and Innovation and has a background in management and computer science. She worked at the LMU Entrepreneurship Center researching entrepreneurial personality. She created engaging and digital entrepreneurship classes and gave coach supporting (soon-to-be) entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, students, and professionals. Since 2008 she has been working as a freelancer in various fields such as Marketing & Sales, Consulting, and Finance & Accounting for clients from many different industries. She is an open-minded, inquisitive and ambitious person and happy to share her knowledge and expertise that she has gathered throughout her professional and international career.
and Silvia Angel is leaving her footprint to do social innovation. She is a professional storyteller. Over the last decade, she has been involved in designing and facilitating diverse projects and processes in the fields of education, social innovation, creativity, collaborative work, and entrepreneurship. She holds a B.A. in Management of Social Innovation and currently works at Social Impact gGmbH as a trainer and coach. She has performed on versatile stages, offering workshops and coaching and using stories to spark impulses for change.
Exploring the intersection of science and art to inspire innovation
Join us in this talk where we will explore these questions and discuss how science and art intersect to inspire innovation.
Our guest speaker, Dr. Kitty Yeung, will share her journey, showcasing how she has driven intrapreneurship and hackathon projects within a corporate environment.
In addition, she will talk about the creative endeavor that led her to write “The Quantum Computing Comics notebook”.
Last but not least, she will tell us more about how she created her own fashion brand “Art by Physicist” which produces tech-fashion products, and what she has learned about pushing innovation in the traditional fashion industry.

About the Speaker
Dr. Kitty Yeung is a Sr. Program Manager at Microsoft Quantum Systems and the Founder & Designer of sustainable and STEAM fashion brand, Art by Physicist. She is the Creative Technologist & Lead of the Fashion Hack at Microsoft and Producer of MS Learn quantum modules. She created the comic series Quantum Computing through Comics and published the book Quantum Computing & Some Physics: The Quantum Computing Comics Notebook. She is also a Public Speaker on quantum computing and fashion tech (lecturer at HackadayU and Microsoft Reactor on Introduction to Quantum Computing). She received her Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Harvard University in 2015 and B.A., M.Sci. and M.A in Natural Sciences – Physical from the University of Cambridge in 2010
The Power of Play for Virtual Working Sessions
Remote access and collaboration is a given in today’s world, specially in 2020!
Most of us have the possibility of working from home or, have been recently constrained to do home office, whether we want to or not.
By now, most of us know how to wing it in order to be productive and efficient. Even meetings, which are not easy to handle in situ, have now become one more task.
We know the drill: have an agenda, make it short and pinpoint desired outcomes. However, daily work life needs more. More contact, more space to breathe, more ground for creativity… An doing this remotely is not easy.
That’s why we want to talk to you about supporting and enhancing virtual work sessions: those longer tasks which require fluent communication and, normally, human contact.
How can we enrich remote working sessions to make them productive? How can we engage with each other in order to drive innovation, through unusual circumstances? how can we make remote work-storming actually work?
